I quoted once again what I have written and it's obviously not what you
try to blame me for. The software is stupid because it offers the
possibility. I clearly wrote that. It's a marketing gag which makes people
using a virus scanner feeling safe (although they are not) and makes
people receiving such message safe although they are not.

What does this program scan? Does it work like a local mail server?

TB! extracts the attachment from a mail. Gives it to the plugin. AV
removes the virus. Attachment is imported back to TB!. Mail is clean. The
virus scanners I know either check the data 'stream' coming from a pop3
server (but are not able to manipulate it), or they scan file 'on access'
(in this case, the messages.tbb). I can't imagine that it's possible to
let a virus scanner directly remove a virus from an attachment in the
messages.tbb, because the file is normally locked through TB! and/or the
removing would destroy the structure of the messages.tbb.
