For non-germans: 'Start' / 'Settings' / 'control Panel' / 'Keyboard'. Second tab is 'Input Locales', option is named 'Enable indicator on taskbar'. IIRC W2K has the capability to remember what language used for what application. If you accidentally switched the keyboard language when in The Bat! with key shortcut it this could be the effect.
