I'm not sure what any of this means, so I'll pass it all on FWIW....
I finally downloaded the newer .dll file, copied it into the primary
directory, and rebooted. Just to be sure, I went in to the
administrator's preferences and re-installed MAPI. It still wasn't
working.
I happened to pick a contact (in Lotus Organizer) who has entries in
two different TB! address books. I clicked in Organizer; a dialog in
that program came up (asking whether to address an email or to drop
the address info in an email); and then--showing that the call did, in
fact, get to TB!--a dialog from TB! came onscreen. TB! showed a
dialog to resolve the email conflict due to there being two different
entries. I clicked one of the two entries, and that's when it all
stopped and nothing further happened. So, MAPI seemed to be working
enough to get the data to TB!, which then seems to be dropping it.
Next, I changed the Organizer setting to use the Simple MAPI client,
without specifying TB! Now it worked. I switched it back to TB!, and
it worked again. None of this should have mattered, but it did. But
then I noticed something odd about the addresses that were going in to
the composition window.
When TB! picked up the MAPI call, it checked its own address books
(all of them, not just the default) for similar addresses. If it
found one, it used the associated card to address an email. If it did
not find one, it failed to create an email with the information being
passed by MAPI.
Any ideas about what's going on or how to make it function better? Is
it just inadequate programming in TB!'s code?
