No, I am perfectly happy with using this funcitonality in my MUA, even
if I ran my own mail server. Matter of taste, probably.

I didn't know what you suggest is possible, but it sounds sensible.
What I am still waiting for is a log in which we can see the actual
dialog between TB and the POP/SMTP server.
