Hello, I've got a suggestion I would like to have your opinion on before entering it into the wish list.
As you all know, TB!'s message bases easily gets fragmented, both on a file system level and internally. The file system fragmentation is easy to deal with using a defragmentation utility, but wouldn't it be a good idea for TB! to provide an utility for internal message base defragmentation? I have set my TBUDL folder to keep messages for seven days, which means my TBUDL folder usually is around 1.5 to 3.0MB, depending on the current activity on TBUDL. If I defragment the files, deletes a single message and thereafter purges and compresses the folder, contig.exe (see http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/contig.shtml) reports my .tbb file for the TBUDL folder to be divided into 67 different fragments. This has to mean that the message I deleted was spread out in at least 66 different locations in the .tbb file. It's not a very bold assumption that internal defragmentation of the .tbb file would speed up TB! quite a bit.
