I do agree with you that putting the forwarded message in the thread is useful and perhaps even important but, even if the In-Reply-To: was included intentionally in forwarded messages, I must say that it is NOT needed at all. Why? Because threading works perfectly just with the References: header line. Try it if you don't belive me. I know this because of two reasons: - I'm working on a PowePro macro (not tuned yet) to manually thread messages (i.e. reply messages coming from Outlook that do not include either a In-Reply-To or References header) and the method I'm using is to export to *.MSG, adding a References: header line and importing. The imported message is properly threaded. - I have also just tested this with forwarded messages. Exported to *.MSG, deleted the In-Reply-To header and imported. The imported copy is also perfectly threaded. So, my conclusion is that In-Reply-To is not at all needed in forwarded messages, the References is just enough. And there is no possible doubt about which message it will thread to, because the References line in any forwarded message will only include *one* message ID, the message ID of the original message being forwarded. And while I talk to you... any plans to include a manual re-threading option in a near future version of TB? Or should I continue tuning my PowerPro macro? -- Best regards, Miguel A.
