Hello TBBETA Members! This issue becomes stranger and curiouser.
After having grasped the new concept of the PGP (and perhaps S/MIME) implementation I received through the list two messages by Allie both of which showed the message as plain text and a Part.TXT tab containing the list footer - an odd behaviour for some time now with some messages. The first one showed an invalid signature; when clicking the button a context menu opened (isn't that wrong according to standards?) showing two options, one giving me the details after chosen by me. the certificate was in order, only the message had been altered. The second message by Allie showed up with a green tick, signalling a valid signature and an unaltered message ... When I clicked upon the button this time, I got PGPLog instead of the more informative window with the other post. The signature was now shown as invalid. Either Allie used two different methods (PGP vs. S/MIME), two different certificates (with S/MIME) or TB's PGP implementation is clearly lacking*. *Which it is handling-wise, it is not as transparent as it should be. -- Dierk Haasis The Bat 1.63 Beta/9 on Windows XP 5.1 2600Service Pack 1 Asking dumb questions is easier than correcting dumb mistakes. ________________________________________________________ Current beta is 1.63b9 | "Using TBBETA" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
