I used 6.5.8 I think, which also worked.

Well, you should be able to use it.

Are you familiar with the registry? I changed back and forth between
GnuPG and Internal to see which key was being affected. It was this.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat!\PGP Mode

The DWORD Values are as follows:

0 - Internal
1 - PGP Command Line
2 - PGP 5.5x plugin
3 - PGP 6.0.x / 6.5.x plugin
4 - GnuPG
5 - PGP 5,6,7,8

Even though I normally have Internal and GnuPG as available options
normally, I was able to force the other options (although they were
greyed out, but selected.

It might work for you.

If you're not familiar with the registry, run the attached file, and
answer 'YES'. If you feel uncomfortable doing that, or it doesn't make
it to you with the attachments, then paste everything from inside the
below BQ into notepad, save it as x.reg, and double click it.

,------ [ Assumes Windows 2K / NT / XP ]
| Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
|
| [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RIT\The Bat!]
| "PGP Mode"=dword:00000005
