Good [morning|afternoon|day|evening|night] Olivier,

OM> Seeing how close to unusable it is for now, I wouldn't mind any longuer
OM> beta period. As 2.0 is only at Beta/1, is it important anyway ? :)

..but we and other users waiting for the release version would really
mind. Besides, I don't quite understand what you mean by being nearly
unusable - it looks like you need to do some fine-tuning for your IMAP
account and we should just make it possible :-)

OM> My account is quite complex and heavy, a bit less than 100 folders
OM> in a hierarchy.

Well, I don't consider 100 folders as "heavy". I know TB! users with
about a thousand of folders and nearly the same number of filters.
This is what I would call "heavy" :-)) Though, it's not IMAP
accounts, but nevertheless...

OM> I'm LAN connected to my IMAP server but polling ALL folders just for
OM> counts takes more than a minute.

This speaks about your IMAP server performance, I am afraid. It could
be the server retrieves folder status and processes other commands in
the same thread and this is why you need multiple connections and
which is basically wrong because IMAP server implementation should be
based on "thin client" philosophy...

OM> What would you recommend as synchronisation settings ?

As long as you use it on LAN, you don't need to synchronise any
folder - i.e. caching would work for you better. However, if you wish
to keep an eye on some folders, you can synchronise headers for those
folders, but bear in mind that the Beta/1 disconnects from the server
after synchronisation is finished (this will be made optional in the
next Beta).
