I was a bit to quick with my bug report. As long as I change the menu View | View mode to None, I *can* use different view modes for different folders. Now it seems like this menu setting are global and override all individual folder settings in the same way that setting view modes by right clicking the message list column header did before. Funny thing is that choosing view mode by right clicking the message list column header does not set view mode globally anymore but only for the current version. Just the way you would expect it to.
