Except the average joe on the street doesnt know this. I use the bounce feature in various mail tools I use to "politely" tell cold-call sales emails that I dont want them. Invariably they dont know that the bounce is fake and remove me from their lists. Mind you, I've had one that I replied to with a copy and paste of a bounce message and that seemed to work so that shows how much people actually look at the message. A bounce would be good in my opinion but of limited use - like everyone says, spammers spoof addresses anyway so you cant use it there.
