Old known, albeit I don't know the reasons why it's not fixed.

When you've done your steps and used '<Shift>+<Pos1>' and nothing
seems to happen: hit <Del> afterwards and see: the text is selected,
it's, for whatever reason, only the "visual highlighting" that is
missed.
