Whatever the underlying problem is, I doubt it comes from my side.
First of all, the folder in question has complete rights to be read
and written to. Second, it worked until I installed the new release.
Third, I just checked and found a very peculiar directory structure with
various folders "base" and "transact" within each other, all
containing at least one MS-DOS batch file called "clear".

I also found several files/directories set to read-only; I changed
their status to read-and-write. Upon restarting TB I got the same
error message and found the read-only set again.
