If I understand your question correctly, you want to click on the "Follow" (or "Follow message" or "Follow this message", I can't recall exactly) button on the right of the "Message Finder" window. This will take you directly to the message in the normal thread view and highlight it. It took me a while to figure it out too, as it is not as intuitive as I would have wanted.
