Given that, I think 65% is a nice compromise. And the beta testers didn't get the rugged pulled out of them anymore than regular users did (as a matter of fact, the regular users probably did moreso, since they neven knew about the 3.0 beta). You beta test to help the program progress, and in return, you get new features and bug fixes before anyone else. That's the unwritten contract, and that part has been upheld.
