I suppose red messages are direct replies to you and blue messages are
(should be) messages either from you or containing @rancho-k.com in
the References field?

It's interesting that the same messages by me are marked blue both in
your message base and in mine. At first, I thought it had something to
do with where the relevant domain where in the References chain, but
since you are filtering on @rancho-k.com and I on @canit.se and our
filter kicks in on the same messages, I think we can rule out this
suggestion.
