I've had this problem with a series 2.x version. Unfortunately I don't recall which one it was, but if I remember right, this problem was commented by others too. It was soon fixed, but I had a suspicion that it may have been due to something done by my ISP rather than because of The Bat. In your case, the cause of the problem appears to be elsewhere. How about your firewall or antivirus?
