The "standard" keyboard shortcut to start a reply is CTRL-R (or is it? OK,
in Opera's M2 you can just press R without CTRL, but R really is the key),
and that works in TB. I'm missing exactly what you're missing:
automagically quote only selected text *IF* there is selected text when
CTRL-R is used.

That is bad style. If you use the "reply" function, the mailer will include
the appropriate "references" and "in-reply-to" headers that point to the
message you're replying to. TB is a threading email client, and I just
can't tell you how annoying I find it if someone hits reply just because
he/she is too lazy to type my darn email address again in a *NEW* message.
A new message is a new message is a new message and thus invoked with
CTRL-N, period. :)

Awww, I don't know - imagine you're answering a lot of listmails, do you
want to have a pop everytime because from and reply-to are different?

In addition, what I'm badly missing is "reply to this address quoting
selected text", that function is not available at ALL.
