If I understand you correctly I would still oppose to this wish. It
apparently makes things easier but I think it make following the logic
of filters more complex and it doesn't introduce any real benefit (i.e.
something that can't be done now).

Yes, because that is exactly one of the reasons parameters for filters
were introduced.

What I meant is that I have not tested enough the use of parameters in
general to see if there are any possible bugs.
