Since when is their code changed? I use F-Secure for many years now
and never did the version I bought stop working or disintegrate. In
earlier years it just was illegal to get new virus definitions, then
access was simply forbidden to download the definition files and now
files may simply not be recognisable by older versions (you need an
upgrade).

If a program stops working I'd be as cheesed off as you seem upon the
faint hint that TB may go subscription.
