With most modern flash disks, this is already done in the hardware, and thus no longer necessary. You are only adding overhead, and by caching writes, you increase the chances of data loss. But IMHO you should never use flash disks for anything other than transporting data anyway. If you store valuable stuff on them, I consider you crazy. :)
