I mean for the address of the Exchange server, you fill in something
like exchange.example.com (DNS) or 111.111.111.111 (IP address) instead
of the windows (?) name.

Can you ping your Exchange server over the network? What IP address does
it return?

No but I think these will influence, no matter whether they are on
another account. Ports are "global" for your machine.

Hope this helps a little more.
