Could as well be German, over here it is Saint Niklas (Nikolaus,
Niklaas, Nick etc.) filling children's shoes on December 6th.
Curiously we have a saying - originally not connected to the Saint,
but I usually use it on his day: "Jemandem etwas in die Schuhe
schieben" (lit. = putting something into one's shoes), meaning the
same as the American word "framing" in a criminal context.
