I'm sure you have heard me and others talk about our previous e-mail client/newsreader called Virtual Access that I used for some 7 years. Well, VA had an option (kind of a plugin IIRC :) that, if activated, when placing the cursor over an acronym it would show a tool-tip with the expansion.
