Hi,

Okay, sluggish is a terribly indescriptive term to use, unfortunately
I cannot think of anything better for it. Since the new interface
introduction, TB has seemed a little sluggish, it's caused my laptop
to go incredibly slow when swapping windows, the HDD light goes crazy,
especially during mail checks (to a point where it can spend a few
minutes just ON). Swapping between applications during any mail checks
is... terrible (I should mention that I have one account now, and it's
IMAP only, with approximately 150 folders). It can take upwards of 10
seconds to swap to another program, and in some instances, windows
reports the other program as not-responding, and tries to kill it off.

Today I opened the task manager, and watch the CPU, memory, and
virtual memory usage of TB. At one point, CPU spiked to 30%, which is
a lot better than I've seen in the past. VM usage was fairly for a
change (below the 40MB mark), compared to the past too (over 300MB in
some occasions). Then I turned on the I/O columns for READS/WRITES and
"Read Bytes" and "Write bytes" and my jaw hit the floor. Having TB
running for approximately an hour, TB had THE highest I/O reads by a
LONG way. The closest competitor in the I/O reads department was
"SYSTEM" with a trivial 158,388 reads... when TB came in at a heavy
hitting 2,943,072... That's nearly 20 times the reads... Outlook
didn't even come close with about 20k I/O reads. Writes were just as
bad. TB was coming in at 1.6 million, while the next highest was
"svchost" (which could be anything) was at about 8k writes. Then I
looked at the actual bytes read/writen. TB stomps all over everything
in the list, with 7,921,560,341 bytes for read (that's about 7.6GB
roughly). The closest in the list was winamp (and I've been streaming
audio music since about 0900, and it's now 1030), with 343,330,175
bytes. For the I/O writes, TB would be considered super heavyweight,
with about 4,458,829,658 bytes, the closest is trillian with 8,223,278
bytes.

Why is TB's I/O activity so incredibly high compared to anything? Why
are these last few betas so I/O intensive, causing it to be pretty
unusable? The first beta with the new interface wasn't too bad, but
the last 2 or 3 have been awful to the point that I've not been able
to read mail during the day as it is killing my work productivity
having to wait for TB to let go of my HDD so I can get on with work.
