Thanks for the announcement :-)  Don't you think it
should be a separate message to the list so others,
skipping most of the pre-beta chatter, will see it?

No, I was not asking for any assurance that any beta is
guaranteed suitable for everyday use.

All I was asking is if the pre-beta series (which I
have not been following) had any EXE releases or
included some supplemental files that would make a
simple unrar of 3.0.9.12 unsuitable.  I vaguely recall
that the first alpha/pre-beta required some special
installation instructions.
