Hi Stefan Tanurkov, Tuesday, March 1, 2005 you let us know -at least in parts- : > Good [morning|afternoon|day|evening|night] Charlene,
CF>> Reverted to last stable version, made a backup, uninstalled all and CF>> deleted the reg-files. Installed the 3.01.33, got back my messages, ran CF>> it once to test it (fine) and did it again: 3.09.1 prebeta crashes CF>> again. CF>> Where & why am I wrong? > How do you start TB! ? If you are using a shortcut, make sure the > start folder is set to the folder with TheBat.EXE It has never never been anything else!! Cross my heart and hope to die.. I extracted -following closely your instructions given those good old times you introduced the very first deep alpha- all Rar-files to the folder, the previous exe was in. Since I never changed anything concerning TB's setup (I always hoped that nature would be wise enough to manage initial setup better than I ever could) I did accept all places TB would like to be stored in and all file associations it would like to seize I granted it to posses and so on. So don't stretch out your index finger towards me, remember: the one to stretch the index finger has three other ones pointing to himself :-) I always created a new shortcut and at initial start I clicked the exe directly. The first version that did ever work for me was that one Boris mentioned to be located on your daily-work folder at Ritlabs. (this happened yesterday or the day before) I was curious enough to try it out. I did the same procedure than I did all the times before: extracting the whole bunch of files into the main directory where TB's exe is. The only visible difference since deep alpha tryout is, that this time it really worked. Not too good -think of the ghostmails and some harmless AVs- but at least I am back at work! I think it would be a good idea to figure out what went wrong all the times and times before. Can't you pick up the sense of the number TB is spitting out while crashing? Module blabla read of address blabla? You're the programmers, you know which line of code the message is pointing to -at least you should know. Today I am glad that I can take advantage of the new betas, despite I have no idea what it was that this time I succeeded and all the times before I failed. Maybe some virtual folder thing or some false-combined split-mails or whatever. -- kind regards Charlene Ferrara mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] :star: Real programmers are a kBit smarter ;-) ________________________________________________________ Current beta is 3.0.9.13 Return | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
