Hello all, Customisation has been one of the long standing wishes for many TB users and it looks like it is finally coming true. I, for one, have always felt the need for a Customisation Tool to the point that I did my own customisation (added a toolbar to the main and edit windows, as you can see in attached PNGs) with the help of PowerPro.
For different reasons I have hardly done any testing on the Customise capabilities introduced in the 3.0.9.x series and this is why I have not reported bugs myself or even confirmed those reported by others. The new UI with Themes, floating/dockable toolbars and menus, etc., are part of the customisation capabilities and are great. However, I'd just like to comment on what I call the Customisation Tool (View/Toolbars/Customise) and what I would expect or wish to be able to do with it once its development is completed. I don't know if RIT guys have already thought about some of the capabilities I'd personally like to see. To me, with Customise Tool a user should be able to: - Assign or change keyboard shortcuts. (already working) - Add/change/delete options from menus and toolbars. (working) - Add new toolbars. (working) but should also allow some additional capabilities like: - When assigning a menu item to a toolbar, like Maintenance in Cust_1.PNG, I'd like to be able to choose an icon for it so it is shown as a button. - Assign more than one "command" to a single toolbar button or menu item and, therefore, to a single shortcut. A very simple example of what I mean is to be able to have (like I already do with my PowerPro toolbar) a single button to Mark a message as Read and then Move to Next Unread with just one click. But there are more "complicated" sequences I can think of. - I think it would be also useful to be able to have toolbar buttons that could be "assigned" to call/execute external programs, bat files or scripts with the necessary command line options and parameters. -- Best regards, Miguel A.
