I understand you completely. I hope what I have written above will show why I will continue to help with testing IMAP.
Yes, I understand and can see 'eye to eye' with all your comments. As with all imperfect choices, we choose the one that will work best for us at a given time. I can actually get by with TB! at home since my IMAP server runs on my working system. The connection is therefore as fast as it can be. The connection speed just overcomes any inefficiencies with sheer speed. ;) However, I've had enough for the time being with just 'getting by'.
However, I appreciate that your situation allows you to make the decision you made, i.e., to carry on, and I'm happy for that because I'm sitting here thinking that TB! IMAP needs testing in different environments to improve. :) There lies the dilemma.
However, I need good evidence of commitment to really get the thing working soon without explanations that we have to make do because of POP3 architecture getting in the way as well as priority issues putting IMAP on the backseat even for a while. I know that this may be the reality and I understand it from a development POV. I'm not being suggesting anything to RITLabs. If I can't get this, I've given a lot of time and am not yet prepared to give more with the uncertainty. I may get a second wind yet, and start actively testing again.
