Well, maybe I wasn't sufficiently clear. So let's do it in the famous
1-2-3 procedure listing:

- I receive a PGP crypted (not just signed) mail. I see the "This is
an encrypted message" text in the preview window and I see one
attachment of 86 bytes containing the same text.

- I select the decrypt-button and enter a password. Now I see the
plaintext of the message and have three attachment-tabs:

          1.) part.txt - the above mentioned message

2.) "Text" - the message plaintext

          3.) attachment.att - whatever this is, it can be a zip, a
          gif, whatever.

In the file name list below (in my configuration) of the tabs there
are two files listed:

        1.) part.txt

2.) attachment.att (with its respective name of course)

On a "normal", non-crypted mail I could now select attachment.att and
chose "Delete" from the context menu. With the crypted message, for
the attachment the option "Delete" is grayed out. I could delete
part.txt though (which I have never tried).

However, I can not delete the attachment - probably because the
attachment has been crypted together with the plaintext and I don't
have the secret keys to re-encrypt the message after I delete the
attachment. But that's not what I want TheBat to do in the first
place, I want it to "strip away" the "crypt-envelope" and leave me
with the plaintext message including the attachment, which I can then
treat as with a normal, non-encrypted message.

Better explanation? ;-)

Second issue that may be connected:

It's apparently not possible to edit a self written, crypted message
after saving before sending. A normal message as well as one that had
only been signed can be edited, the signature will be recreated. I
can't edit the crypted message even though I can still decrypt it
myself because it has been co-encrypted with my own secret key, too.
