It shouldn't be too hard for RIT to give the option for using Word spell
checkers. I had an Amateur Radio packet program called "Sally" that could
use them just by checking a menu entry. That was written by an Amateur and
wasn't a commercial program, just something he wrote in his spare time so
it shouldn't be too hard for a professional software house to manage.
