Did you try renaming some of the files or directories in The Bat Folder? Try renaming your mail folder to something else so it isn't recognized by The Bat. Then create a new Mail Directory with nothing in it and see if you can start TB. If you can copy an account from the old directory (with TB closed) and try starting up again. Continue until you get the error.
