Similar to > how the read status changes right there and then. Yes, right. Another one, even a bit bigger. ;) If a message is signed and you don't have it cached, you see the "pale grey colour" icon. View it, message is cached. Upon selecting another message, the icon changes to "normal blue", but no "signed icon" appears.
