Nope. I should have said that the key is already ultimately trusted
and signed at the point of creation (I created it). It has been in use
for over a year and working perfectly all that time. Until now. I have
a feeling it is to do with the current beta series, which is why I
mentioned it here.

The error message makes no sense at all.
