I guess I was like a dog staring at headlights. Frozen for a sec and then choose the wrong direction to run. ;)
I chose the writing part after staring at the screen for a few moments as the sound stuttered away.
It was afterwards that I thought of the print screen option. Having seen the dramatic cascade a couple times now and seeing that everything else is working fine on the system. I'll deal with it more calmly next time.
