You  should be able to add the menu items to the menu or add shortcuts
for  the  buttons  on the Tool bar. When viewing a message, RMB beside
the  menu  and select customise. Select the container Main Toolbar and
highlight  the button that you want to add a shortcut to. Now click on
the  word  None under Shortcuts, type the shortcut you want and select
OK to save changes. Hope this helps.

You know, I discovered this after I sent the message, but "Follow Next" and "Follow Previous" (whether I use the toolbar buttons or the key combinations that I created) don't work the same way between 3.0.1.33 and RC5 (I haven't tested this on other beta versions).

Just to explain,  I have my mailboxes sorted by date in descending order.  Let's say that in 3.0.1.33, I am looking at the second newest message in a folder (open in a separate window) and I choose "Follow Previous", the newest message will open up.  If I choose "Follow Previous" again (assuming no new messages have come in that folder),  nothing happens.  If I try the same thing in RC5, when I am viewing the newest message in a folder, choosing "Follow Previous" goes to some other message (I'm too tired tonight to figure out exactly where it goes).

I should point out that this is just when I use the buttons.  Even though I did assign keyboard combinations to the buttons, it just goes somewhere else altogether (and again, I am too tired tonight to figure out exactly where it goes).

Any ideas?

With peace,

Henry
