Actually, you're still sending HTML.
There are two ways for not sending HTML to this list, the first is to
change the editor to plain text every time you write a message to this
list.
In the editor menu that's:
  Options -> Message Format -> Plain text (MicroEd of Window editor
  doesn't matter, though I prefer MicroEd for myself)

You can also set that preference for all messages, that can be done
from the main screen:
  Options -> Preferences -> Viewer/Editor -> Default message editor:
Here you can take your pick from the same four formats.
