Heathens! Of course anyone with a modicum of culinary understanding would know that the only true key lime pies can be found in the Florida keys. The eponymous key limes (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle), while not specific to the Florida keys, are prized for culinary use. You'd be hard pressed to find key limes growing elsewhere in the US. However, what most don't know is the main key lime industry is in Mexico (where they are called Mexican Limes). The juice is then shipped back to the Florida Keys. So, to make a real key lime pie, you must use Key or Mexican limes, not <yuck> regular limes. Most restaurants in the US sell counterfeit key lime pie, made with _other_ limes.
