True, but why is it that some programs (Forte Agent comes to mind) _never_ crash or show otherwise buggy behaviour, and others (Total Commander comes to mind) seem to have the label "bug alert" printed all over them?
Agent is an example I have referred to in the past. Forte is the one player in the on line communications field that does not release buggy software. On the other hand, If you check the history available on their web site, you find that Forte has a long history of being very late with updates. For instance, last June, we were due an update that would allow users to connect to multiple news servers, download the same newsgroup from each of them, and so make sure that you get a complete message list. This is a really great idea by the way. This update is now a year late. My current expectation is maybe September. Maybe.
I know that there are some here who think Agent has worthy competition. My opinion is that they really don't, and that is why they think they can afford to take their time. This multiple server thing, for instance, is available in the way they envision it in no other Windows newsgroup client. There are a couple will allow more than one server, but they will not combine the messages from them into one list. My feeling is that this is a fairly ambitious technical feat. And we don't get it until it works.
Beyond that, IMAP is not included in Agent, and is not planned. Wouldn't it be a beautiful thing if it were.
