This may sound odd, and i guess it falls in the same category as Marck's folder template advice in that the feature is there to be used but: Why check and repair mailbox caches? If you have a problem with them, delete them and rebuild them, no problem. It's not like you're trying to repair precious folders with real message bases and not a cached copy. Additionally, I'm yet to see purge options work on IMAP mailboxes. The only options left are the removal of duplicates and compressing. Those work on an individual mailbox basis.
