Ah, that classic debate so aptly described by Margaret Mead - in this
case, from a staunch proponent of nature over nurture. Sorry, Tony,
but I'm not buying that worn-out excuse for every human weakness and
every human corruption. We don't describe animals as mobile plants,
and human beings are not just rational animals. With rationality,
assuming that we exercise it, we can become far more than mere
carnivores or even vegetarians.

And that was just a postscript to my previously declared moratorium on
this subject. No doubt Mr. Pearlstone will soon arise from his sleep
and kill another horse - something I'd rather not share responsibility
for.
