Hi Henk M. de Bruijn,

Wednesday, June 29, 2005
you let us know -at least in parts- :

>> You encourage me to open a French Clairet, but I resist due to the
>> temperatures.

> Clairet, is that Bordeaux?
The grapes are growing in that region, yes. That region once was under
English governance, which had an indelible influence on the language. It
was at the time of the Maid of Orleans (Jeanne d'Arc) when all started.
Until today, the French have never lost that English influence at least
concerning the language. The English called it "clairet" and the French
"rosé". Connoisseurs like you have proven their unique nose in
unequivocal evidence! Congrats!
