:) ... another reason in which I use editing new email is that I am on a lot of technical lists, and many people refuse, or because of a lack of knowledge, trim their emails. This many times goes several replies deep, making 100s of lines of useless redundant information. Since I store important email on one or more IMAP servers, I must trim these emails. Currently I do so quite easily using Mutt. I might save 5 or 10 lines of code, and delete 150 lines of redundant junk. Multiply this by 1000s of emails, and one can see the disk space saved.
