Maybe I laughed too early. The messages are still on the IMAP server... I'm now trying to delete them, which is a bit difficult, as out of a sudden TB! began to use a lot of memory. At it best times it needed 1.4 GB memory. After purging the local folder and deleting the IMAP caches everything's fine again.
