Yes, I am sure but you must be in "Only Unread message"

That is surprising. If I look at Customize, I see
three standard ways of doing this:
Ctrl+Alt+Right
Ctrl+Right
Ctrl+]
You must have deleted the other two - or may the fact
that the menu only shows the first one listed has you
confused.
I used to use Ctrl+], but since using a laptop I've
switched to Ctrl+Right - the Right is only three keys
away from Ctrl :-) I have no idea why you choose to
press an extra key - finger exercise?
