My problems were specific, because I didn't connect to Exchange server,
which I used only to send messages out of my corporate network. Within this
network I am allowed to send messages via special SMTP server and receive it
via POP3 service working on Exchange server. Due to such configuration,
after fixing Exchange communication errors, I can use The Bat! as universal
program for both sending to everywhere and receiving from everywhere.

Yes, this is true, and therefore when I have to use Outlook I purge all its
mailboxes on exit. POP3 service allow me to deleting messages on the
server as well, so I have all my correspondence stored locally.
