Hallo MAU, The bug is marked as "resolved" in the BT, but over here, it is not. I received a mail from my friend. His email address
"Müller, Jürgen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> is displayed correctly in the message list, but becomes "\\"Müller, Jürgen"" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (with all those quotes) in the grey header. First bug. for info, he actual From header is this: From: =?iso-8859-1?Q?=22M=FCller=2C_J=FCrgen=22?= <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I don't read this stuff, so I don't know whether the two slashes at the beginning are included, but I don't think so. I do the think quotes marks around the realname are. When I reply to the message, TB makes it "\\"Müller, Jürgen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (second bug) - and this does not get sent. As I log from the account log, TB tries to send: <"\\"Müller>, Jürgen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I am using TB v3.51.4 under XP Pro SP2. Please reopen the bugreport. As I was not the original poster, I cannot do that. Original bugreport c&p'ed under the sig delimiter. Server reply - Invalid RFC821 mailbox specification. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- Looking at what the problem could be I noticed that the From field in client's message was in the form: Lastname, Name <address> As you can see in From_3518.png, the Lastane, Name part is not enclosed in quote marks (which, as I understand, TB should do when displaying it). Because of this, when I reply the To: field is set by TB without the quote mrks either, as you can see in Reply_3518.png. Then, when sending this reply, is when I get the error mentioned above. I tries the 3.5 release version with exactly the same errors. I did not try with any of the RCs or betas, but I di go back all the way to my good old 3.0.2.10 and, as you can see in From_30210.png and Reply_30210.png, the Lastname, Name is properly enclosed in quotation marks in From: when the received message is displayed and also in the To: field of the reply. Therefore, when using 3.0.2.10, no error is generated and my reply was sent without any problem. </QUOTE> I'll try to upload the 4 files that I attached to my message in TBBeta. ===================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- murech - 17 Jul 2005 05:01 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- have just verified with v3.51.4 and it is fixed. Reason: The second line > is interpreted as recipient "M&http://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=252;ller <M&http://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=252;ller>" (no quotes) which is not > a valid address. > Solution: TB should keep the single/double quotes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- .:VA:. - 04 Jun 2005 16:52 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For further informatio see the thread in TBB mailing list starting with <mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- .:VA:. - 04 Jun 2005 16:49 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Confirmed! The special characters (óäöüß) cause the problem with the comma and the missing double quotes.
