It's in the charset/unicode new functionality that is only partially implemented in MicroEd that the bug seems to dwell. Stefan has said that it's possible they are going to do a complete unicode re-write, starting from scratch: mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] I'm going to wait for that beta and run 3.0.2.10 in the meantime.
