Hello tbbeta, Well it is interesting that in 3.5.1.4 this was fixed and now it is back :-/
Go to a folder, tab over to the message list. With no message selected, press Ctrl-A to select all messages. They "highlight" as if selected, but the "Del" key will not delete them ... unless there is a message selected and visible in the preview pane.
