Miguel, I noticed this twice yesterday, when I was waiting to shut
down the computer after closing The Bat! The purge-and-compress graph
went along doing its thing for about a second. Then the main TB!
window stayed on-screen for perhaps 30 or 40 seconds--not long enough
for me to consider getting the Task Manager up. I was running 3.51.9
at the time.

I had been moving back and forth between half a dozen folders,
checking and reading mail, and several times between my two accounts.
Occasionally I would read a mail from Mail Ticker VF.

Additionally, I had been running TB! for several hours before closing
it and had clicked on some links to web pages from several mails.

I don't have any plug-ins. Don't run an anti-spam filter.

This morning I have just now closed TB! to test for your reported
behavior.

I have had only the TBBETA folder open so far. Purge-and-compress flew
across the screen in the time of less than one breath and the main
window winked out immediately behind the graph's completion. (I had
closed the View Folder window before clicking to close TB!).

I'm speculating that TB! is doing some sort of clean-up after a number
of folders have been open and hundreds of new messages downloaded.
Therefore the wait after purge-and-compress.

I will keep an eye out for what happens later this morning. I have to
go out in 4 or 5 hours. However, yesterday was a very active e-mailing
day for me; quite busy on both TBBETA and TBOT, with some activity in
TBUDL and TBTECH and my Bugtracker folder, in a couple of folders in
my other Account, and in several PM folders. So I'm not sure if I can
replicate those conditions today.

Anyway, it's a thought. The difference between yesterday and today
using the same TB! version felt quite dramatic. Yesterday, almost
tapping my foot, wanting to shut down and be on my way. Today, closing
so fast that I had barely time to see it happening.

I'm on my first cup of coffee after waking far too early. :)
Sending a cup your way, also. :batcoffee:
